Shelby and Luke loved the idea of a wintery snowy session, so we opted for Breckenridge engagement photos! I love shooting in the snow. It’s so beautiful, peaceful and dreamy to me! So of course I was on board with this fabulous idea! Breckenridge has so many stunning areas for wintery engagement photos in Colorado. Lake Dillon happens to be one of my favorite areas. I feel like it shows off the mountains so well!
So Luke and Shelby are high school sweethearts! They’ve been together for 8 years, and they love good food and travel! These two have an insane story from the proposal!
They took a trip to Spain, and Lucas brought the engagement ring along with him. Which is a brave move in itself! He was being so cautious the whole time, keeping it on him and hidden from Shelby at the same time. Then he finally went to propose, got down on one knee, did his whole speech, and asked Shelby to marry him. She was wondering a little bit if it was a joke because she was staring at an empty ring box the whole time. And then Lucas looked down to put the ring on her finger after she said yes, and it wasn’t there! He slightly freaked out and they had a long awkward car ride back to their hotel, and eventually realized that he had left the ring box in their hotel room for a short time earlier. And it had been stolen right out of the box! I mean can you imagine?! Thankfully he had just gotten insurance on it right before the trip!

We truly had such a perfect day for a winter engagement session in the Colorado mountains. It was sunny and pretty warm, and there was tons of sparkly white snow on the ground everywhere! It was so dreamy. Shelby and Lucas were so natural, adorable, cozy and cuddly and they just made it so easy! We got so many incredible photos to capture their sweet love.
