Wow wow wow, what an emotional day! I can honestly say this has been one of the most emotional weddings that I have had the privilege of being a part of. Christine and Ryan have been together for seven years, so they have been in this thing for a while! If you recall when I spoke of their story in their engagement session, they were unintentionally engaged for five years!
These two met in college, dated for a couple of years and got engaged. Next thing they knew Christine was off to Vermont to get her PhD. Ryan tried to get a job up there, but there just wasn’t much opportunity in their new small town. He ended up staying back and working. So they ended up being long-distance engaged for the next five years while Christine finished school. To say they have been waiting for this day for a while is quite the understatement!
Wedding Day at Stone Mountain Lodge
Christine and Ryan chose to take the ATV up the mountain for their first look. It was extremely emotional and there were so many happy tears. It was truly powerful and moving. These are the kind of moments that I feel so privileged to witness and capture for my sweet clients. They also read their vows to each other after their first look. It was in private on top of the mountain overlooking the most incredible views. What an intimate and beautiful experience for them.
Now as a Lyons Colorado wedding photographer, I have heard tons of toasts over the years. But Christine’s dad and her sister gave some of the most beautiful and touching toasts that I have ever heard. The tears were flowing and everyone was just overjoyed to be celebrating the lifelong commitment that Christine and Ryan finally got to make to each other. These two lovebirds found me while looking for a Lyons Colorado wedding photographer, and I truly couldn’t be more grateful that they did. This was such an incredible wedding to get to document and experience. What can I say, I have the best job!
