Laura and Scott are such a sweet couple, and I am so thankful to know them! We have mutual friends, and I was therefore thrilled when recommended to photograph their Spruce Mountain Ranch wedding! Spruce Mountain is a gorgeous venue in Larkspur, Colorado offering stunning mountain views and fields with many many cows. Yes please! It’s perfectly rustic with it’s incredibly massive barn for the reception events.
Scott and Laura’s ceremony was scheduled to be held outdoors in the field. However, minutes before the ceremony was going to start, the rain started to come down. It was getting harder and harder, and we had just decided to send everyone indoors and wait it out, when the heavens opened! It started pouring rain, and even hailing! Everyone bolted to the barn, and we waited for the rain to stop, but it just wasn’t letting up. All the guests had great attitudes, and helped rearrange things to have the ceremony inside. It was not the first choice of location for the ceremony, but in the end Scott and Laura were just happy to be getting married! After all, that’s the main mission for this whole wedding day thing, right?! It was a beautiful ceremony, and everyone could feel the love!
Due to the crazy storm, some fog rolled in afterwards and as a result, we were able to get some amazingly epic foggy bride and groom photos! Let’s just say I was in photographer’s heaven! It was absolutely incredible, and rather worth the storm I’d say 😉 We got to have all of their dancing outdoors on the patio, and the rest of the evening was perfect!
